I was on auto-pilot with my thoughts last night and started thinking about how important it is to have Social Proof. Social Proof, to me, falls in with Pre-Selection. Let me explain.
When I was in the Air Force, there was this one bar I would hang out at because the music there was better than the other bars. Everyone would recognize me as the "Party Guy" next to the stage who'd go in the back with the band on break and get drunk with them. On top of that, I had a minimum of six people with me at all times. From recognition and having a good sized crew with me, people knew that I was "The Man." So it was easy for women to either open me or allowed themselves to be easily opened by me. I was VIP there (in the general sense). I had the Social Proof from the bands. I had the Social Proof from my friends. I had Social Proof from the recognition of everyone in the bar. To me, Social Proof and being Pre-Selected go hand-in-hand.
Now, what is Social Value? It is how much value they perceive you to be worth in a venue. If you're Social Proof and Pre-Selection are through the roof, then you need have VALUE on top of that. You can be the "coolest" guy in the bar. You have a 100 friends in the place! You are "the man." But what about your value? Just because you know a lot of people doesn't necessarily mean anything if you're not able to CREATE VALUE for yourself and give it to others.
Think of it like currency. If you have no gold, silver, or platinum to back to your currency, it's worthless. If all you have is a machine to print paper money and to mint coins, then all you have is paper and coins. They have zero value to them.
But as soon as you are able to back that paper and those coins with gold, silver, and/or platinum (the three most precious metals being traded), then your currency now has value. Your actions are the "precious metals" that will provide you with the Value to go along with your Proof.
It is important for you to not only have strong Social Proof, such as our resident Thorn Star, but if you're not able to creatve value for yourself and give it to others, then your proof is worthless. But, by being a genuinely awesome man, and not being a douche bag, you're creating value for yourself. That value can now be dispensed in various ways (use your imagination).
